The short version: we know nothing about you

What we collect

Nothing. The Society of Crossed Words has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. We do not use cookies.

Where your progress lives

Your streaks, solved clues, settings and lesson progress are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device only. They are never sent anywhere. If you clear your browser data, they are gone, which is why the Settings screen offers an export button that saves your progress as a file you control.

Offline use

The app uses a service worker to cache its own files on your device so it works offline. This cache contains only the app itself, never personal information.

Hosting

Like any website, the server that delivers these files may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability. We do not use these to identify or profile anyone.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date below will change with it, and the plain-speaking tone will not.
